Horseshoe Bend Country Club

Horseshoe Bend Country Club sits in the northern suburbs of Atlanta, in Roswell, Georgia, surrounded by the residential community that shares its name. The golf course was designed by John Lee and opened in 1974, with four of its holes routed along the Chattahoochee River.

The club traces its origins to developer Lowell Womack, who moved north across the Chattahoochee after building neighborhoods in Dunwoody. Womack Properties created both the original clubhouse — designed by the architecture firm Chapman, Coyle and Chapman — and the course. In 1978 the company sold its interests to Mobil Development Company, which laid out the master plan for the surrounding community and its road network. Tattersall Development Company took over the club and the continuing neighborhood development in 1983, the same year the American Junior Golf Association opened its first permanent headquarters on the property.
