About Southern Hills Golf & Country Club
Southern Hills opened in October 1997, built by the Dunaway family of Hawkinsville on land they had owned since the 1970s and previously used for farming and hunting. The family still operates the course.
The property is marked by rolling terrain with elevation changes of as much as 160 feet, a feature rarely found in central Georgia. The layout mixes open ground with fairways framed by oaks and pines, and water comes into play on nine of the holes.
