Griffin Bell Golf Course is a public 18-hole layout in Americus, owned and operated by Georgia Southwestern State University. It was formerly known as the Americus Country Club.
The course plays short but asks for variety, calling on most clubs in the bag and placing a premium on accurate approach shots into small, elevated greens.
Americus sits between Andersonville and Plains, Georgia, the hometown of President Jimmy Carter. The course is roughly 45 minutes from Albany, about an hour from Columbus, around 70 minutes from Warner Robins and about three hours south of Atlanta.
