About Buckhorn Springs Golf and Country Club
Buckhorn Springs Golf & Country Club traces its origins to 1962, when a group of businessmen from the Brandon and Valrico area set out to create a country club in a rural setting. After several years of planning, the site was settled on in February 1966, chosen for its natural features, including natural springs and ground rising to roughly 90 feet above sea level — the highest point in Hillsborough County. The land, formerly groves and pasture, was acquired from several local families, some of whom held original federal land grants.

The club plays 18 holes and has grown into an active membership club, with men's and women's golf associations and a stocked golf shop on site.
Under owner Bill Harper, the club has pursued ongoing improvements to the clubhouse and course, along with an expanded calendar of social events.
