About Southern Oaks Championship Golf Course
Southern Oaks Championship Golf Course was designed by Kenny Ezell, a longtime course architect for The Villages. Its layout follows an unusual balanced pattern: each nine holds three par 3s, three par 4s and three par 5s.
The holes of each length run in differing directions, so wind and approach angles change from hole to hole. Five sets of tees stretch from roughly 6,500 yards at the Gold markers down to about 4,000 yards from the Friendly tees, making the course manageable for a wide range of abilities.
The golf shop sits at the southeast end of Sawgrass Market, near the Ezell Recreation Center entrance.
