About Scepter Golf Club

Scepter Golf Club opened in 2005 and is the youngest of the three courses in Sun City Center. Florida-based architect Chip Powell, who also designed Club Renaissance, laid out the course with five sets of tees to suit a wide range of playing abilities.

Water comes into play on most holes and the bunkering is placed to reward strategic decisions from the tee and on approach. Many of the greens are raised, with closely mown roll-off collars and swales around them that put a premium on accuracy and creative short-game play. Fairways look wide, but the contours tend to feed balls away from the center toward the ponds and lakes bordering many landing areas.

The routing winds through the surrounding communities, mixing golf course homes with stretches of natural habitat and wildlife.
