About Seminole Lake Country Club
Seminole Lake Country Club traces its origins to the Cunningham family, who arrived in the St. Petersburg area in 1911 after moving from Fletcher, North Carolina, and opened a hardware and grocery business on Central Avenue that quickly took hold.
In the early 1930s, Howard Cunningham, Sr. used the proceeds of that business to buy a 300-acre tract west of St. Petersburg, which he named Pine Ridge Farm. The land operated as a working cattle ranch, with the whole family taking part in running it.

Howard's sons Gene, Book and Doc Cunningham grew up around the property, which sat well outside the city at the time and served the family as both a ranch and a retreat. That acreage became the setting for the present-day club.
