About The Country Club Of Orlando
The Country Club of Orlando traces its origins to November 1911, when the club was chartered at a time when the city was working to draw visitors from the north. A nine-hole golf course was already in play, and the club's first clubhouse — an "old Florida" style building ringed by wide verandahs — opened in May 1912, soon becoming a gathering place for dances, card parties and other community events as well as golf.

A reorganization of the club's corporate structure in 1935 brought the current name. The Second World War years proved difficult, with declining membership and shortages of labor, food and supplies; the club continued on through the leadership of president Holman R. Cloud and contributions from members.
A contemporary clubhouse opened in January 1956. A new clubhouse was introduced in May 2000 with a gala opening ball, and in 2017 the foyer, living room, ballroom and bridge room were renovated.
