Baytree National Golf Links opened in 1992 as a Gary Player signature design, laid out in a links style with wide, playable fairways framed by mounding and moguls. Holes are routed individually rather than along parallel corridors.
The course stretches beyond 7,000 yards from the back tees and features 82 white sand bunkers along with red shale coquina waste areas. CHAMPION Dwarf Bermudagrass greens vary in size and shape, allowing both accessible and demanding pin positions, while lakes and wetlands come into play across the layout.

The opening hole is a par 4 measuring 421 yards from the back tees and 286 from the forward tees, with water left, a large waste bunker right, native shrubs and grasses in the rough, and a green that slopes away and is guarded by a bunker.
