About Jacksonville Golf & Country Club
Jacksonville Golf & Country Club sits along Florida's northeast coast, where gently rolling ground is framed by heavy tree cover, freshwater lakes and local wildlife. A low country-style clubhouse anchors the property.
The club traces its origins to June 1987, when 732 acres were purchased for what became Arvida's third community in the greater Jacksonville area, originally called Jacksonville Country Club. Ground was broken on the 18-hole course in the spring of 1988, with architect Clyde Johnston designing and Fuzzy Zoeller serving as player consultant. The brick entry at Hunt Club Road was finished in June 1989, the first residents arrived that fall, and the opening round of golf was played in November 1989.

The course hosted the Florida Mid-Amateur Championship, U.S. Amateur qualifying and the North Florida PGA Professionals Match Play Championship in 1990, followed by the Florida State Amateur Championship in 1993. It remains a private, member-owned club within a controlled-access community.
