About Heritage Palms Golf & Country Club

Heritage Palms Golf & Country Club occupies 814 acres in Fort Myers that were once used for cattle grazing, a vegetable farm and a single 38-acre lake. US Home began acquiring the land in 1997, and development moved quickly from there.

Today the property holds 36 holes of golf, 1,662 residential units, 45 lake ponds and 179 acres of preserves. The first 18 holes opened for play in November 1998, followed by another nine in February 1999 and the final nine in 2000. Residential construction and sales of terraces, verandas, villas and single-family homes were underway by 1998, with the last home sold by the developer in 2006.

The community's clubhouse opened in October 1999, and The Lodge followed in 2001.
