Fort Myers Country Club
About Fort Myers Country Club
Set along McGregor Boulevard, with its rows of palms, Fort Myers Country Club — known locally as "The Fort" — is a long-standing fixture in the city. Donald Ross drew up the layout in 1916, and the course opened to play in 1917, making it one of the oldest on Florida's west coast.
The club sits about a mile from the Edison and Ford Winter Estates, and the connection runs deeper than geography: Thomas Edison and Henry Ford were both regular players here during the 1920s, a piece of history that remains part of the course's identity.
