About Highlands Reserve Golf Club
Highlands Reserve Golf Club opened in 1998 on the edge of a sand shelf known as the Green Swamp Ridge, southwest of Orlando near Davenport. The terrain is unusual for Florida, with elevation change spanning about 120 feet from the property's high point to its low, and natural waste areas bordering several holes.
Mike Dasher's original design plays to a tournament yardage of 6,647 yards. Holes four through seven are terraced into the side of a gently rising bowl, while rows of pines separate the parallel first, ninth, 11th and 12th holes. The routing opens with three par 4s under 400 yards, finishes with back-to-back par 5s at 17 and 18, and changes direction frequently. Green complexes vary in character, from a front-left pin on the first that sits nearly six feet below the rest of the putting surface to the nearly circular 12th and the crowned, elevated 14th.
