About The Ritz-Carlton Members Golf Club
Designed by Tom Fazio, the course at The Ritz-Carlton Members Golf Club was shaped by moving an estimated 1.9 million cubic yards of earth. Excavating soil for the dramatic contouring created an extensive lake system, and elevation changes range from five to about 40 feet — unusual for the Sarasota area. Many holes play as downhill tee shots to raised fairways and greens, while others climb to the putting surface.

Fairways and turf areas are broad and open, framed by dense vegetation along the edges of the holes. Wetland marshes and open lakes give several holes a native character, and tropical plantings add color around a number of the tees. The land forms and contours enclose each hole, lending a sense of seclusion.
The club is a private, members' facility and has been designated a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary by Audubon International for its environmental practices.
