Keney Park Golf Course
About Keney Park Golf Course
Keney Park Golf Course traces its origins to 1927, when its first nine holes opened to a design by Devereux Emmet. Emmet, an early American golf course architect, laid out more than 150 courses during his career, including Hartford Golf Club, the Country Club of Farmington, Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, and Riddell's Bay Golf and Country Club in Bermuda.
A second nine followed in 1931, designed by Robert "Jack" Ross, an engineer for the City of Hartford. Ross designed or reworked several Connecticut courses, among them Hartford's Goodwin Park Golf Course and Indian Hill Golf Club in Newington.

After roughly twenty-five years during which Hartford's municipal courses were leased to private management companies, the city returned operational control to City Hall in the fall of 2013, placing the course under the supervision of the Department of Public Works.
