About The Redding Country Club
The Redding Country Club is a private club in West Redding, Connecticut, founded in 1965 by Louis Nazzaro, Russ DiFranco and Nick Nerich, who set out to create an unpretentious country club centered on sport and companionship. Along with golf, the original property included tennis courts and a swimming pool.
The first nine holes were laid out by Ryder & Carlson, the design team also behind Richter Park and Salem Golf Course. In the 1970s the course was substantially reworked by architect Rees Jones, whose other credits include Old Chatham, Pinehurst No. 7 and the 2001 reconstruction of Torrey Pines. His routing uses the site's streams, ponds and sharp elevation changes to produce an 18-hole course of 6,335 yards, where the modest yardage belies the challenge.
