About Great River Golf Club

Great River Golf Club occupies a mile-and-a-half stretch of rolling ground along the Housatonic River in Milford, Connecticut. The 18-hole championship layout was designed by Tommy Fazio and opened in 1999, and it plays as two contrasting nines: the front weaves through low-lying tidal wetlands, while the links-inspired back nine climbs to higher ground overlooking the river.

Sacred Heart University of Fairfield purchased the club and its surrounding 150 acres in Milford and Orange in 2015, roughly 11 miles from the university's main campus. Alongside a private membership of more than 300 alumni and area residents, the property serves as the home course for Sacred Heart's Division I men's and women's golf teams.

The 32,000-square-foot clubhouse holds coaching offices, indoor training facilities and the golf instruction staff, with lessons available on site.
