About Greenwich Country Club
Greenwich Country Club is a private club in Greenwich, Connecticut, with roots stretching back to 1892, when it was founded as the Fairfield County Golf Club — the fourth country club established in the United States. Its first president was Julian W. Curtiss, whose work with the A. G. Spalding Company helped introduce golf to the country. The name changed to Greenwich Country Club in 1909 as the club broadened its range of sporting and social activities.

What began as a five-hole course in a backyard has grown into a campus of more than 165 acres in central Greenwich. In 2018 architect Beau Welling oversaw a renovation of the 18-hole course that brought new bentgrass greens and rebuilt bunker complexes, along with an expanded short-game area and driving range.
Beyond golf, the club offers tennis, squash, paddle, aquatics, fitness, bowling, and skeet, trap and five-stand shooting, plus 16 guest rooms.
