About Perry Park Country Club
Perry Park Country Club traces its roots to 1888, when John Perry and fellow investors formed the Red Stone Town, Land, and Mining Company with plans to turn Pleasant Park into a resort destination. A dam on Bear Creek created Lake Wauconda, and the Hotel Nanichant was built southwest of the water, on the site of what is now the 18th tee. The hotel drew Denver society for conventions and parties, with guests arriving by stage from the Larkspur and Greenland rail depots.

In 1890 the company commissioned Frederick Law Olmsted, designer of Central Park and the Boston Common, to lay out a resort village with a casino, church, and museum. Most of it was never built, though a handful of cottages for Denver businessmen went up, among them the Charles Roberts home on the lakeshore. That house, the Manor House, serves today as the club's clubhouse.
The club itself was established in 1969. Dick Phelps designed the course, which opened with nine holes and later grew to 18.
