Lakewood Country Club

Lakewood Country Club traces its origins to 1905, when it opened as a nine-hole layout with dirt fairways and sand greens. The purchase of neighboring farmland in 1908 allowed the course to grow, and by 1910 it had reached 18 holes with grass fairways and greens.

The clubhouse was rebuilt in 1913 as golf gained popularity across the country, and the club became a gathering place for prominent Denver figures during the 1920s. Further remodeling followed through the 20th century, including a 1986 project that added a second story with mountain views, and a centennial renovation completed in 2008 that brought an updated pool and fitness center. In 2017 the golf course itself was restored to reflect its 1916 character.
