Saratoga Country Club
About Saratoga Country Club
Saratoga Country Club's layout plays through tree-lined corridors with noticeable elevation change. Several holes reward a shaped tee shot: one dogleg left tempts longer hitters to draw a driver over the trees guarding the inside of the bend, while the conservative line leaves a straightforward approach from the left center of the fairway. Another short hole can be reached from the tee by big hitters, though the safer play leaves a downhill shot of roughly 150 yards into the green.

Bunkering is a recurring defense. The second is an uphill par 4 framed by sand, with traps short and right of the putting surface complicating the approach, and a hillside left of the fairway where balls are frequently lost. Tall pines can block approaches played from the wrong side of the fairway, and greens that slope away from the player make back pin positions particularly demanding.
