Gleneagles is a nine-hole course in San Francisco, built to full length rather than as a short layout. It was designed by Jack Fleming, who served as superintendent of San Francisco's golf courses and worked early in his career under Dr. Alister MacKenzie during the construction of Cypress Point.
The course is known for its contoured terrain, which presents a stiff test for players across the handicap range, from beginners to scratch golfers. Over the decades it has drawn a notably broad cross-section of San Francisco golfers, including municipal regulars, country club members and high school teams.
