First Tee — Monterey County operates a youth-focused golf campus in Salinas, California, where the organization took over management of the former Twin Creeks Golf Course in November 2004 and began running golf and life skills programs for young people ages 4 to 17.
The property covers 63 acres and centers on a nine-hole course. Practice facilities include a grass driving range along with putting and chipping greens. The John Zoller Clubhouse anchors the site and houses a partnership with the Intel Computer Clubhouse Network.
Programming pairs golf instruction with character development, life skills, academic support and mentoring. Members attend weekly golf and life skills classes led by First Tee coaches and PGA apprentices, and have access to loaner golf equipment, computers, tournaments ranging from casual to competitive, scholarship opportunities, and national leadership and career exploration academies.
