Whispering Lakes Golf Course
About Whispering Lakes Golf Course
Whispering Lakes Golf Course is an 18-hole public course in Ontario, California, set on Riverside Drive between Vineyard and Archibald avenues.
The site has an unusual history. The city of Ontario first bought the land in 1914 for use as a sewer farm, adding parcels over the following decades until the holding reached 242 acres by 1959. An agreement was then reached with Ontario Golf Inc. to operate the property, and in 1960 it took the name Whispering Lakes Ontario Public Course.

In its early years the golf course shared the spotlight with the Royal Tahitian clubhouse, which drew attention well beyond the region. The building declined over the decades and was demolished in 2010. A temporary clubhouse now serves golfers while plans for a permanent replacement are considered.
