About Catta Verdera Country Club

Catta Verdera Country Club sits among the rolling hills and woodlands of Lincoln, California, on land that was once part of the 22,000-acre Whitney Ranch. J. Parker Whitney passed through the valley in 1851 on his way to the Auburn gold fields and later returned to settle there, and by 1870 he and his brothers were operating the ranch, whose tours featured a carriage route over twelve bridges along the tree-lined Eight Mile Drive.

The course was routed through a 335-acre valley with the intent of preserving the site's natural character, and its setting includes streams, native oaks, buckeyes, Ponderosa pines and granite outcroppings. Architect Richard Phelps worked with the existing contours of the land, producing a layout that rewards accurate shotmaking and penalizes errant play.

The club is private and offers memberships in the Sacramento Valley area.
