About Bidwell Park Golf Course
Bidwell Park Golf Course is an 18-hole, par-72 municipal course in Chico, California, set within Upper Bidwell Park. Opened in 1920, it is among Northern California's oldest municipal courses.
The layout makes use of the park's natural terrain: the front nine plays through a parkland setting, while the back nine climbs into the foothills. Fairways are framed by mature, towering trees, and the design follows the contours of the surrounding wilderness. The course is described as fair but demanding, and is playable for golfers across a range of skill levels.
Each September the course hosts the Chico City Championship, the second-oldest match-play tournament in California.
