About Cameron Park Country Club
Cameron Park Country Club occupies a valley in the hills near Rescue, California, on land once part of the Wallace Ranch. The property was among several ranches acquired by Larry Cameron, a rodeo cowboy who later became a car dealer, and his wife Ruth, a fashion model.
Cameron commissioned golf course designer Bert Stamps, who had dozens of courses to his name around the world, to lay out and build the course. Stamps and his wife Dottie later made Cameron Park their home.

The club's construction has its own piece of local lore: a tractor dropped into an abandoned mine shaft near the sixth green, and gold nuggets recovered from the site helped fund the remaining work. Dottie Stamps had a necklace made from some of the gold found on the property.
