Apple Valley Golf
About Apple Valley Golf
Apple Valley Golf Course is tied to the history of the high desert community it sits in. Lloyd Mangrum, the professional known as "Mr. Icicle" for his unhurried manner and smooth swing, made his home in Apple Valley for more than two decades and died there in 1973. He turned professional at fifteen, served in World War II and was wounded at the Battle of the Bulge, won the 1946 U.S. Open, played on Ryder Cup teams from 1947 through 1953, and finished his career with 36 PGA Tour victories.
