About Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club
Ak-Chin Southern Dunes is a public course in Maricopa, Arizona, laid out in the Australian Sand Belt style across 320 acres. Designed by Brian Curley and Fred Couples, it opened in 2002 as a private club. The land was part of the Ak-Chin Indian Community's original May 1912 reservation before being removed by Presidential Executive Order later that year; the Community reacquired the property in 2010 and now owns the facility, which is managed by Troon.

A 2014 renovation made the championship layout more player-friendly. The practice area was rebuilt at that time, with six tees and six target greens constructed to USGA specifications.
The course has hosted U.S. Open qualifying, the PING Southwest Section PGA Championship, collegiate men's and women's tournaments, and early-stage Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying School.
