San Marcos Golf Course
About San Marcos Golf Course
San Marcos Golf Course opened in 1913 and was seeded with Bermuda grass the following year, making it the first grass golf course in Arizona. Unlike the desert target layouts common in the region, this parkland-style course plays to a par of 72 over 6,661 yards, with tree-lined fairways, water features and native plant and animal life throughout.
A major renovation in 2014 reworked the layout and added a new irrigation system, resulting in a strategically varied course suited to a range of skill levels.

The clubhouse was also redesigned, retaining its historic character with original terrazzo floors across the 5,000-square-foot space and high vaulted wooden ceilings. It houses a golf shop, a bar and grill, and several outdoor lounge areas overlooking the course.
