Texarkana Country Club
About Texarkana Country Club
Texarkana Country Club is a private club whose course dates to 1922, laid out by the Chicago architectural firm of William Langford and Theodore Moreau. The design is known for its deep bunkers and sloping greens, with the 14th hole long carrying the nickname "The All-American Hole."
The club also holds a notable place in golf history: Byron Nelson worked here as club professional early in his career, using the fairways to prepare for the Masters Tournament. He referred to the course as "Little Augusta," citing the resemblance between the Langford and Moreau layout and Augusta National.
