Heritage Golf Course is an 18-hole layout set in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Oneonta, Alabama. The design works through varied terrain, with shaped fairways, exposed rock formations and Champion Bermuda greens.
Several lakes and creeks wind through the property, adding both difficulty and scenery. The routing is unusual in that six of the 18 holes return to the clubhouse area, making for an efficient round, and the course is maintained to play fairly for a wide range of abilities.
The three-story clubhouse covers roughly 12,000 square feet and overlooks the first hole and the ponds, with wrap-around porches. Its main dining room seats more than 200 for seated events and 400 to 500 for receptions, making it suitable for functions of various sizes. There is no driving range and no full restaurant; the golf shop offers snacks and hot dogs, and the bar serves soft drinks, beer and mixed drinks.
