About RTJ Golf Trail at The Shoals

The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at The Shoals features two 18-hole championship courses set on high ground overlooking Wilson Lake on the Tennessee River.

Fighting Joe plays long from the back tees and rewards big hitters, though multiple tee options let golfers of varying abilities find a comfortable test. The companion course, the Schoolmaster, opened in 2005 and takes its name from President Woodrow Wilson, who was instrumental in the building of Wilson Dam and carried that nickname in political circles. Its closing hole runs along the high bluffs above the river, while a waterfall guards the second green.
