Woodward Golf Club
About Woodward Golf Club
Woodward Golf & Country Club dates to 1916, when A.H. (Rick) Woodward, Sr. established it as the employees' club of the Woodward Iron Company. The original course was laid out by Birmingham sportsman Charlie Hall, and the club stands as the oldest in Jefferson County still occupying its original site.
Interstate construction in the 1970s prompted changes to both the course and the clubhouse, and architect Ward Northrup carried out further renovation work in 1986. A driving range is available to members and their guests, and the club offers both 18-hole and nine-hole play.
